About the Job: As a Principal Systems/Safety Requirements Engineer, you will work closely with our team to manage and substantiate safety requirements for the Dreadnought Combat System. With a strong background in Systems Engineering and significant experience in safety-related domains, you will be responsible for overseeing safety requirements management using IBMTM Rational DOORS.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Safety Requirements: Oversee the translation of outputs from safety analyses into formalized requirements in line with the Safety Management Plan.
  • Analyse and Establish Safety Requirements: Assess Level 3 Safety Functional Requirements (3SFRs), Derived Safety Requirements (DSRs), and Local Hazards to Individuals (LHI) safety needs, ensuring alignment with system specifications and technical requirements.
  • Review and Link Requirements: Work closely with safety subject matter experts, technical authorities, subsystem teams, and suppliers to align on safety requirements and evidence substantiation.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Coordinate shortfall management, addressing and managing safety evidence shortfalls, facilitating stakeholder meetings to define next steps.
  • Support Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in DOORS, ensuring compliance with the Dreadnought CS Requirements and Acceptance Management Plans.

You Will Need:

  • Proficiency in Requirements Management Tools: IBM DOORS.
  • Expertise in Managing and Substantiating Safety Requirements: Across multiple system levels.
  • Strong Background in Systems Engineering: Significant experience in safety-related domains.
  • Ability to Provide Technical Leadership: Guidance on requirements management.
  • Excellent Collaboration and Communication Skills: Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

What We Offer: An estimated salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, and the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project in the defence sector.
