Children's Home Care Manager

We are seeking an experienced Care Manager to lead our new 3-bed complex care home in Hereford. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care and support for young people with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties.
About the Role
- Develop Comprehensive Care Plans: Create tailored plans that address each young person's care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
- Build a Strong Team: Recruit, train, and retain a skilled team of caregivers who can provide exceptional care and support.
- Foster Consultation: Develop systems to involve young people in their care planning and decision-making processes.
- Assign Key Workers: Appoint dedicated Key Workers to implement individual care plans and provide ongoing support.
- Maintain High Standards: Establish and monitor high-quality care standards, adhering to our quality standards and the Home's Statement of Purpose.
- Handle Complaints and Concerns: Take ownership of addressing any complaints or child protection concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with parents, carers, and other professionals to promote the welfare and well-being of young people.
- Participate in Meetings: Attend and contribute to care planning and review meetings as necessary.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Relevant Experience: At least 2 years of experience in residential care for children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
- Qualifications: Level 3 in Children's Residential Care is essential; Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is preferred.
- Knowledge: Understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.
- Skills: Efficient planning, organizing, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership skills.
- Communication: Confidence in effective spoken and written communication.
- Understanding Trauma: Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this position is around £60,000 per annum, with opportunities for additional bonuses and benefits, including a comprehensive induction program, management development training, and competitive pay.
