About the Role

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or support worker to support children in a SEN school in York. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children with a wide range of learning difficulties, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).

The school requires a dedicated and caring individual who can support children on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. Personal care may be involved. The school is located in York, within walking distance of public transport.

The position is open to all experienced Teaching Assistants and support workers who have some experience in a similar role. Depending on performance, the school may extend the contract or offer a permanent position.

Requirements

Previous experience in a similar setting
Level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent and above is preferable
GCSE Maths and English and computer literate
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

To Be Eligible

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child-related references that cover at least the last two years
