**Job Title:** Engineering Specialist

The National Skills Agency is seeking to appoint an Engineering Specialist to join our team. As an Engineering Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing and monitoring apprentices on engineering apprenticeships, ensuring they meet and exceed their target grades and achieve outstanding outcomes.

The role involves conducting assessments, keeping accurate records, contributing to teaching theoretical and practical workshop sessions, and contributing to the development of existing and new courses. You will also be required to adopt a consistent approach in dealing with student discipline, ensure equipment and materials are treated with respect, and participate fully in professional development.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have an Assessor Award qualification and a background in engineering machining, maintenance, and manufacturing up to Level 4. Offering other engineering areas up to Level 5 would be an advantage.

You will be an active course team member and participate fully in meetings, career conventions, in-service training sessions, conferences, seminars, open evenings, and student assessment evenings.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct the assessment and monitoring of candidates on engineering apprenticeships
  • Keep and maintain accurate records of all forms of assessments
  • Contribute to teaching theoretical and practical workshop sessions
  • Contribute to the development of existing and new courses
