The Hearables Innovation Team is at the forefront of audio signal processing, machine learning, acoustics, and audio perception. We're pushing the boundaries of what's possible with audio technologies, and we're looking for a talented researcher to join our team in London.

This role is a key part of our applied research powerhouse, driving the development of innovative headphones and hearables products. You'll be responsible for researching, developing, and evaluating audio signal processing and machine learning algorithms and methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and evaluate audio signal processing and machine learning algorithms and methods.
  • Identify emerging opportunities in audio research and development.
  • Design and conduct user-centric audio interaction and listening experiments.
  • Hardware and software prototyping, including processing sensor and audio signal data.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in audio or a related field.
  • Demonstrable expertise in audio signal processing and machine learning.
  • Knowledge of fundamental DSP and ML techniques for audio.
  • Experience with Python or Matlab and version control tools.
  • Ability to clearly communicate research findings to both specialist and general audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with consumer audio research and development.
  • Musical and/or critical listening background.
  • Track record of published papers in relevant peer-reviewed journals or conferences.
