Procurement Opportunity at Westland Horticulture

We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Purchasing Assistant to join our Head Office team in Dungannon. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procure direct and indirect materials to support business needs
  • Analyse and obtain quotes to ensure the best value and quality for the company
  • Recommend global sourcing solutions based on comprehensive data and market trends
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance across quality, delivery, service, and cost metrics
  • Ensure compliance with contractual supplier obligations
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers and internal department managers to drive efficiencies
  • Track market conditions and price trends, ensuring we remain competitive
  • Promote supplier innovation and support the implementation of group procurement policies and procedures
  • Undertake project-based work as required
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Driven, hardworking, and ambitious individuals with the ability to establish good working relationships with people at all levels of the business
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar supply chain/purchasing role
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A-C, including Maths and English
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with an aptitude for decision-making
  • Basic understanding of financial principles and how they influence cost
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude
  • Willingness to travel domestically and overseas
