We are seeking an experienced Genetic Counsellor to join our team as a Principal level professional. This role will involve leading the prenatal team and contributing to the strategic direction of our genetic counselling and clinical service.
The successful applicant will be responsible for managing a team of genetic counsellors and nurse specialists in genetics, and will contribute to education, training, research, and service improvement initiatives. The role will also involve working with other health professionals in a multidisciplinary setting.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience of genetic counselling, particularly in rare disease, prenatal, and reproductive genetics. Experience of leadership, management, and education is also desirable. We support flexible and hybrid working, with an expectation that a minimum of 2 days per week will be spent on site at BWH.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the prenatal team and contribute to the strategic direction of the genetic counselling and clinical service.
- Manage a team of genetic counsellors and nurse specialists in genetics.
- Contribute to education, training, research, and service improvement initiatives.
- Work with other health professionals in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Genetic Counsellor Registration with the GCRB, HCPC, or equivalent overseas GC register.
- Full clean driving license and access to a car insured for business use.
- Several years of professional clinical experience as a Genetic Counsellor.
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary setting and liaising with other health professionals.
- Experience of leadership of a team, project, or development.
- Experience of education and training within genomics, including supervision of trainee genetic counsellors.
