Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Microbiologist to join our team as a Quality Assurance Specialist in Harlow.

About the Role

As a Senior Microbiologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our aseptic compounding unit. Your primary responsibilities will include participating in our environmental monitoring program and performing microbiological identification of contaminants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Environmental Monitoring: Conduct viable and non-viable environmental monitoring using various techniques to ensure a sterile environment.
  • Microbiological Identification: Quantify microbiological isolates and perform Gram staining and other identification tests.
  • Quality Control: Conduct fertility testing on process simulations to ensure product quality and oversee temperature monitoring of storage areas.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of QA activities and perform data entry for trending environmental monitoring data.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and QA documentation checks.
Requirements
  • Essential Qualifications:
    • GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science or equivalent.
    • BSc in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or Microbiology.
    • Experience working in a microbiology laboratory.
    • Excellent attention to detail and effective communication skills.
    • Ability to focus and meet tight deadlines.
  • Desirable Qualifications:
    • Experience in a GMP environment.
    • Experience in aseptic manufacture.
