Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer - EC&I to join our team at Orion Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing fit-for-purpose engineering solutions for projects and engineering support on more complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identify project functional requirements and stakeholder needs for assigned projects.
  2. Contribute to the production of Project Execution Plans, including design, safety case, and commissioning strategies.
  3. Support the project optioneering process.
  4. Develop concept designs and fit-for-purpose engineering solutions for projects.
  5. Produce and/or approve project technical specifications.
  6. Carry out technical assessments/approvals of contractors' work instructions/method statements/risk assessments.
  7. Specify and provide technical supervision of commissioning and/or decommissioning.
  8. Manage handovers to systems/operations, ensuring all drawings, instructions, and training have been supplied as required.
  9. Liaise and consult with system engineers and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
  10. Maintain site configuration control throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

  1. Experience in a practising disciplined engineering role (Mechanical, Electrical, EC&I) on industrial plant.
  2. Experience of nuclear and/or conventional project engineering.
  3. Understanding of relevant Company and/or national engineering standards.
  4. Experience of working in highly regulated industries - nuclear preferred.

Desirable:

  1. Working knowledge of the Safety Rules and working knowledge of risk assessment methodology.
  2. Understanding of relevant Site Licence and Quality Management System requirements.
  3. Contract Management experience.
  4. Project delivery experience.
