Commercial Finance Analyst

The Commercial Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role in driving financial strategic decision making and analysis activities for the commercial side of our business. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of financial principles, experience in financial modelling, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Own Financial Models: Create and maintain robust financial models to support strategic decision making, including bid pricing models, investment evaluations, and profitability analysis.
  • Financial Modelling and Reporting: Develop and maintain financial models, business rates, and reports to support forecasting, budgeting, working capital, and long-term planning.
  • Financial Insights and Recommendations: Provide financial insights and recommendations on potential initiatives, including inventory management and reduction, warranty and debit note management.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present regular reports and analysis on financial metrics to key stakeholders.
  • Internal and External Audits: Assist the finance and supply chain teams during internal and external audits.
  • Ad-Hoc Support: Provide cover across the two teams on an ad-hoc basis.
Requirements:
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience as a financial analyst, preferably in a commercial or business-focused role.
  • Financial Modelling Skills: Strong proficiency in financial modelling, data analysis, sensitivity analysis, and reporting, including the creation of charts and tables.
  • Financial Knowledge: Sound understanding of the balance sheet, profit & loss, and cash flow statements.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication and Collaboration Skills: Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Financial Qualification: Financial qualification/background with a practical financial career experience, with a focus on financial modelling.
