Senior Librarian

We are seeking an experienced librarian to join our team at the Wellcome Sanger Institute. As an Assistant Librarian, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our library services and supporting the delivery of our Open Science Roadmap.

• Provide high-quality information services to researchers and support the day-to-day running of the library.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support the delivery of our department's work.
• Manage systems supporting the recording and reporting of Sanger publications.
• Liaise with the Informatics and Digital Solutions team to support the technical development of the library management system.
• Review and develop library services and processes to support Open Access publishing.
• Work with the Library Manager and Open Science Lead to identify developments in Open Access publishing and develop our library services accordingly.
• Drive projects forward to bring them to fruition, prioritizing workload and providing advice and support to the department.

• A librarianship/information management qualification or significant experience in a relevant library/information service.
• Experience working in academic libraries and delivering high-quality information services.
• Experience working with library systems and supporting publication workflows.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Proven IT skills.
