About the Role

To support the development and maintenance of the University's Data Centres and physical IT Infrastructure across multiple locations, you will provide 24/7 response to critical ICT events as part of an on-call rota.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement flexible and innovative technical environments and platforms throughout their entire lifecycle in support of the University's core mission.
  • Ensure reliability and quality of services delivered by creating and maintaining processes, policies, standards, and documentation that underpin the rest of the University IT Estate.
  • Respond to manual and automated alarms and alerts, triaging, resolving, and/or escalating as necessary.

Internal and External Collaborations

  • Technical specialists and service delivery teams within iSolutions.
  • Academic staff at all levels across the organisation.
  • Datacentre facilities, hardware and software suppliers and service providers.

Requirements

  • Experience of working within a large, highly available data centre environment.
  • Experience of managing and troubleshooting enterprise level network, server and storage hardware and software.
  • A relevant technical, engineering or science degree and/or equivalent technical experience.
