Job Title: Operations Lead

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, this role will be responsible for managing and coordinating all inbound raw materials and packaging materials for the Bradford site, ensuring all products are available to meet planned production. The successful candidate will also facilitate waste removal from the Capri-sun operation to the recycling & waste plant on site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain all inventory in the raw materials compound and maintain packaging inventory and storage area.
  • Provide administrative support for the assigned area, including accuracy of all paperwork produced.
  • Maintain system integrity and ensure Raw materials in SAP ECC, MES are readily available to deliver the production plans.
  • Promote Opex philosophies and strategies for material storage and handling.
  • Design, implement, and embed Princes' maturity plans for the area.
  • Operate a daily material FMS process.
  • Ensure arrival of all raw materials and packaging within key performance indicators to ensure availability for manufacturing.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformances relating to product, process, and quality systems for the area.
  • Identify and record any issues relating to product, processes, and/or quality for material movements.
  • Assist the Logistics Manager in identifying work procedures and expediting workflow.
  • Monitor shift performance on a daily basis, ensuring agreed volume is achieved and costs are not exceeded.
  • Ensure all deliveries are received and checked within agreed timescales.
  • Escalate any issues with raw materials to the supplier, quality, and planning teams.
  • Produce reports and KPI information for the Logistics Manager.
  • Forecasting and planning resources according to workload and volume.

General Responsibilities:

  • Implement lean manufacturing work practices, including 5S, AM, and problem-solving, to drive continuous improvement activity throughout the site.
  • Have a detailed understanding of the Princes Manufacturing System (PMS) and the Site Must Win Battle Plan.
  • Ensure all training for direct reports is documented using the appropriate skills matrix.
  • Exercise reasonable skill and care for the health and safety of yourself and other people at work and do not interfere with or obstruct anything provided in the interests of health and safety at work.
  • Demonstrate behaviors in line with the site values and help to improve the Quality, Safety, and Environmental culture.
  • Support the business in working towards delivering our ethical trading and human rights vision.
  • When engaging with internal and external stakeholders, maximize any potential opportunities to communicate Princes' ethical trade and human rights approach.
