Key Responsibilities

The Building Tradesperson will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the university's buildings, ensuring they are safe, functional, and meet the needs of staff and students. This will include:

  • Maintaining and repairing external and internal fabrics and fittings of the university's buildings
  • Supervising small projects, new door and frame installs, fire door maintenance and repairs across the estate
  • Working on composite, UPVC, metal doors, frames, and windows, as well as traditional wood types

You will also be expected to work flexibly, including early starts, late finishes, and occasional weekend work, as well as being part of the trades on-call rota and Christmas break on-call rota.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in joinery and carpentry, with experience working in a similar role or industry. You will also have excellent communication skills, a flexible attitude, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
