Pump Applications Specialist

We are seeking a talented Applications Engineer to join our team in Castleford. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for selecting pump equipment according to customer specifications, calculating pipe friction losses, and preparing estimates and quotations for customers.

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong background in mechanical engineering, experience with centrifugal pumps, and a good understanding of the wastewater industry and its framework. You will also need to be able to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and schematics, and have experience working with commercial terms and conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Selecting pump equipment according to customer specifications
  • Calculating pipe friction losses and producing curves using in-house tools
  • Preparing estimates and quotations for customers
  • Delivering high-standard quotes, solutions, and technical information to customers throughout the enquiry to quotation process
  • Providing support to Area Sales Managers
  • Providing internal technical support
  • Providing support to Commercial Manager

Requirements:

  • HNC/D or degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience of centrifugal pumps
  • Experience of waste water industry and framework
  • Experience preparing and delivering estimates and quotations in manufacturing / Engineering business
  • Experience of working in ISO quality system
  • Experience in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and schematics
  • Experience of working with commercial terms and conditions
