About the Role

As a Specialist Dietitian, you will play a vital part in supporting service users within our hospital's secure mental health and learning disabilities services. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver dietetic care across the hospital.

We are looking for an experienced Dietitian who can support the ongoing implementation of our Hospital's Nutrition and Hydration Strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to enable people to make informed healthier choices more easily when it comes to eating and drinking.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing a caseload using theoretical and practical experience. You will be involved in completing assessments, planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans.

We offer a strong emphasis on teamwork, with support from the local and regional network of healthcare professionals. You will also have access to a variety of training courses to support your career development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Completing assessments, planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes as per individual service users' care-pathway.
  • Planning and implementing individual and group interventions collaboratively with patients.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records, including care notes, written reports (as appropriate) following hospital and professional standards.
  • Implementing and developing evidence-based therapeutic activities to aid patient mental health recovery.
  • Providing training and education will be a central part of this role.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in Dietetics.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983 & CPA.
  • Experience of working in a similar setting.
