Job Title: Senior EC&I Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior EC&I Engineer to join our team at Westlakes Recruit. As a Senior EC&I Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of EC&I drawings, production of cable calculations and lighting calculations, and checking of others' work to ensure design deliverables are produced to a high standard and compliant with all relevant internal and client procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop EC&I drawings, including Block Cable Diagrams and Single Line Diagrams.
  • Produce cable calculations and lighting calculations.
  • Check the work of others to ensure design deliverables meet high standards and are compliant with relevant procedures.
  • Produce technical documents, such as Basis of Design, Testing Strategies/Schedules, and Method Statements.
  • Take ownership of design deliverables throughout the design, construction, installation, commissioning, operations, and decommissioning phases of a project.
  • Produce and check CDM Risk Registers.
  • Produce and check documentation required for Technical Files of new products/plant and equipment.
  • Presentation of technical solutions to clients and others in both formal and informal settings.
  • Present technical solutions at design reviews and HAZOPs.
  • Manage a team of engineers/designers to deliver the engineering scope as required by the project.
  • Mentor a team of engineers/designers to improve their own skill sets and enhance the company's capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with key counterparts.
  • Producing and assessing concessions and technical queries.
  • Preparing and reviewing quality plans for single discipline work packages.
Requirements:
  • At least 5+ years' experience in the nuclear industry.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
  • Chartered Member of the IET (preferred).
  • Detailed knowledge of standards, regulations, codes, and directives and how they should be applied.
  • Proven knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, and techniques of EC&I design.
  • Strong knowledge in the production of Technical Files for new products/plant and equipment.
  • Experience of design in accordance with the IET 18th edition (BS7671).
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of CAE packages.
