Job Title: Asset Planning Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Asset Planning Engineer to join our team at Network Rail. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our town planning services and ensuring the protection of our assets.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining effective communication with external stakeholders, consulting with Network Rail teams, and advising and negotiating with local authorities to deliver the third-party asset protection service. You will also be responsible for providing technical support to the team, preparing and submitting statutory planning and related notifications and applications, and responding to statutory development plan consultations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain effective communication with external stakeholders to facilitate delivery of all Town Planning services and third-party asset protection work in particular.
  2. Consult within Network Rail and advise and negotiate with local authorities to deliver the third-party asset protection service. Provide technical support to the team on all Town Planning services as required.
  3. Deliver an efficient and effective third-party asset protection service on behalf of Network Rail in compliance with external statutory timescales and processes. Provide technical support to the team including (but not limited to) preparing and submitting statutory planning and related notifications and applications, submitting appeals, and responding to statutory development plan consultations. Responsible for the provision and maintenance of team data recording and input to other Property and Network Rail information and monitoring systems.
  4. Support changes required in the delivery of the Town Planning services overall strategy.
  5. Delivery of the third-party asset protection service to required standards and timescales. Maintenance of data services for the team. Preparation of supporting information for the range of Town Planning Services.
Requirements
  1. Skilled in the use of technical administration, data management, and geographic information systems and software applications.
  2. Experience within the rail industry.
  3. Town planning experience.
  4. Full Driving Licence.

Salary: Band 5, ranging from £24,960 - £29,469 per annum plus London Allowance.
