Role Overview

The Education Welfare Officer will be responsible for carrying out home visits to support families and pupils in addressing attendance matters. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with Headteachers and other Senior Staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a service that enables pupils to receive their entitlement to education.
  • Support families and pupils in addressing attendance matters, and enforce relevant legislation as necessary.
  • Reduce absence and increase attendance and achievement.
  • Contribute to risk assessment and decision-making processes.

Requirements

  • Full driving license and use of a car.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to working in different environments and work under pressure.
