Job Summary:

A talented Registered Nurse is sought by St Helena Hospice to join their In-patient Unit as a Staff Nurse. This exciting opportunity involves providing high standards of specialist palliative care to patients and their relatives, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of holistic care needs.

Main Duties:

The ideal candidate will work as part of a team to provide psychological, emotional, spiritual, and social support to patients and families affected by illness, loss, and grief. Key responsibilities include performing Last Offices, ensuring procedures are carried out in accordance with agreed standards of care, and maintaining accurate records.

About the Role:

This challenging yet rewarding position requires a dedicated and compassionate nurse who can effectively manage time to meet patient needs, communicate sensitively, and address areas of poor practice. The successful candidate will participate positively in Clinical Supervision to develop clinical practice and receive ongoing support and development.

Person Specification:

Key qualifications for this role include being an RGN with proven experience as a registered nurse and handling difficult situations. Essential skills include effective communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities. A Diploma of Credit Palliative Care or equivalent is desirable.

As a valued member of the St Helena Hospice team, you will enjoy a competitive salary (£32,000 - £40,000 per annum), enhanced hourly rates for unsocial hours, NHS Pension (or Group Pension Plan for non-NHS Pension staff), at least 27 days annual leave, plus statutory bank holidays, and a range of benefits.
