Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Training and Competency Specialist to join our team at Network Rail. This is a permanent position, and the successful candidate will be based in either London or Singlewell Gravesend.

The role reports directly to the Head of Training & Professional Development in the HR team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing routes to competence by creating role profiles that support functional training requirements and competence standards.
  • Managing the training and development provision for NR(HS), including core skills, behavior, leadership, and development, identifying and establishing improvements to current training programs.
  • Collaborating with functional areas to coordinate the production and implementation of competence standards.
  • Managing competence criteria in the NR(HS) competence management system, ensuring alignment with role profiles, assessment criteria, and competence standards.
  • Supporting training planners with training demand and working closely with assessors in the business for compliance and assurance activities.
  • Supporting the Head of Training & Professional Development in delivering a professional, holistic competence management system for NR(HS).
