Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Kent County Council as a Youth Justice Intervention Specialist, working with young people aged 10-18 who have come into contact with the criminal justice system.

About the Role

This is an area-based role covering Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Swanley, Tunbridge Wells, and Tonbridge & Malling. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking assessments, completing reports for Court and panels, and working directly with young people and their families to complete interventions as part of their statutory programme.

The purpose of this work is to reduce the risk of reoffending in accordance with agreed intervention plans and managing risk of harm to others and vulnerability issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake assessments and create comprehensive reports.
  • Work closely with young people and their families to develop and implement effective intervention strategies.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency teams to ensure consistent and high-quality support.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of youth justice principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will also receive a range of benefits, including access to ongoing training and development opportunities.
