">Job Title: Academic SEN Tutor
We are seeking an experienced SEN Primary Teacher to join our team at a rapidly improving, small foundation special school in Oxford dedicated to nurturing and empowering children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The school provides a tailored and supportive environment for students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
The successful candidate will contribute meaningfully to the development of pupils and be part of a close-knit, forward-thinking school community. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with the wider staff team, families, and external professionals to support pupil progress.
Main Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils with SEN at the primary level.
- Plan and implement creative, engaging, and inclusive learning experiences that cater to diverse learning needs.
- Regularly assess and monitor pupil achievement, adapting teaching strategies to meet targets outlined in Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Promote independence, self-esteem, and confidence in pupils, fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Demonstrate significant experience teaching children with SEN, particularly in a primary school setting.
- Show strong knowledge of SEND best practices and strategies, including an understanding of autism, ADHD, and other specific learning needs.
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
- Demonstrate a proactive and reflective approach to teaching and learning.
- A competitive salary aligned with experience and qualifications (MPS/UPS + SEN1) - approximately £35,000-£45,000 per annum.
