Burnley is seeking a highly skilled Cover Supervisor to join its specialist school. The ideal candidate will have experience working with pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH), as well as a passion for supporting students in achieving their full potential.

The role involves leading pre-planned lessons, managing classroom dynamics and promoting pupil engagement. We require someone with excellent communication skills, the ability to think on their feet and a patient approach when working with challenging behaviour.

This is a full-time position available until July 2025, with potential for long-term contracts. School hours are from 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities and Requirements:
  • Lead pre-planned lessons for groups of up to 10 pupils, promoting engagement and reducing challenging behaviour
  • Liaise with teaching staff to ensure effective lesson planning and delivery
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers
  • Contribute to the overall well-being and academic success of pupils
