Job Description:

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at a global manufacturing business based near Burton-on-Trent. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for industrial and commercial premises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for industrial and commercial premises.
  • Design calculations including selection of equipment, lighting, cable sizing, maximum demand, containment, lifecycle etc.
  • Assist the estimating team by sourcing quotations from suppliers and vetting quotations for compliance with employer's requirements, specifications, and standards etc.
  • Provide technical support for project teams.
  • Stay up to date with the latest regulations and standards and merging technologies.
  • Review design and specifications for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, and project teams.

Person Specification:

  • HND in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficient using CAD/Revit.
  • Proficient in Trimble design software.
  • Lighting design.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of regulations and building codes.
  • Problem Solving.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Communication.
  • Collaborative working.
  • Professional membership would be advantageous.
