Job Summary

ZipRecruiter is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for delivering mechanical projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee and control the day-to-day management of mechanical projects, including sub-contract packages, to ensure successful completion and exceed client satisfaction.
  2. Manage the mechanical design of systems, working closely with consultants to ensure robust, buildable designs within budget costs.
  3. Lead and issue meeting notes for technical and progress workshop meetings.
  4. Deliver design/working drawings necessary to deliver projects and capture additional costs and programme delays caused by external influences.
  5. Develop commissioning strategies for installations.
  6. Work with a high level of autonomy from the Project Manager.
  7. Assist the Project Manager with their duties and act as a second in command on projects.
  8. Programme works and sub-contract packages.
  9. Manage installation and commissioning activities of assigned packages.
  10. Manage handover documentation (record drawings/test and commission).
  11. Risk control (programme and commercial).

Requirements

  1. ONC/HNC in Mechanical/Building Services Engineering.
  2. SMSTS.
  3. CSCS.
  4. Proficient user of Microsoft Office.
  5. Experience in using ASTA for programming - desirable.
  6. Knowledge of current construction practices and safety on site.
  7. Understanding of mechanical design principles.
