About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Road Safety Engineer to join our team at Gloucestershire County Council. As a key member of our Road Safety team, you will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing road safety projects and policies that aim to prevent injuries and save lives.

About the Team & Role

You will lead a team responsible for reducing road traffic casualties in Gloucestershire, managing and providing traffic and collision data, speed management, and conducting safety reviews of highway design proposals. You will work closely with other teams and external partners to deliver road safety solutions and meet casualty reduction targets.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of the Safe Systems approach to road safety, experience in managing colleagues and projects, and expertise in road safety, including requirements for ensuring highway design meets standards and guidance. You will also need to have significant experience in collision data analysis and deriving solutions to road safety issues.
