About the Role:

As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance, and extra works/emergencies in accordance with contract requirements on Mechanical and Electrical Services.

  • You will perform PPM in accordance with set schedules, ensuring engineering standards are maintained to maximise operational effectiveness and reliability of the Plant and associated electrical and mechanical systems.
  • You must adhere to set engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements.
  • You will ensure onsite Quality Assurance procedures are adhered to in all respects and maintain accurate records/documentation associated with the electrical and mechanical aspects of the PPM and plant.
  • You will respond promptly and effectively to all electrically and mechanically related reactive maintenance issues and help desk requests.
  • You will coordinate initial actions associated with all requests from the client.
  • You will coordinate visiting specialist sub-contractors associated with electrical and mechanical aspects of the PPM schedules.
  • You will respond to call-outs and cover breakdowns and emergencies associated with the electrical and mechanical services aspects of the contract as required.
  • You will diagnose electrical and mechanical faults associated with the PPM or Reactive maintenance of the site.
  • You will repair electrical systems and controls associated with Heating and Ventilation Building Services.
  • You will repair and maintain lighting and distribution systems.
  • You will assist other trades as necessary.
  • You will attend monthly site meetings as required.
  • You will provide reports in relation to work and equipment as required.
  • You will undertake miscellaneous duties as requested by the Client.
  • You will proactively work towards the growth of the contract into other service provisions, such as Mechanical and Electrical, Like-for-Like replacements, Project works, FM Soft Services, etc.
  • You will repair and maintain Gas, Plumbing/Mechanical, electrical systems.
Person Specification:

The knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience relevant to the position are:

  • Candidate must have City & Guilds Parts SVQ 2/3 IN Service & Maintenance or recognised equivalent; or Service & Maintenance Apprenticeship – gained within the building maintenance industry; or recognised trade apprenticeship in heating-plumbing or electrical engineering.
  • Candidate must have Health and Safety Training.
  • Candidate must have GCSE (or 'O' Level equivalent) passes in Maths and English or recognised equivalent.
  • Candidate must have experience with similar maintenance duties, including fault diagnosis and rectification.
  • Candidate must have experience in the Electrical aspects of general building PPM schedules.
  • Candidate must have experience in electrical installation, repair, and maintenance work.
  • Candidate must be Gas Safe qualified, COCN1, CORT1, CIGA1, ICPN1/1A, TPCP1/1A.
  • Candidate must hold IPAF Operators Licence 3a + 3b.
  • Candidate must hold PASMA.
