Carrington West is seeking a highly skilled Residential Property Standards Specialist to join their Private Sector Housing team.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for improving housing standards and making a difference in residents' lives.

The Role
  1. You will inspect properties, conduct HHSRS assessments, prepare schedules of work, serve formal notices, and prepare cases for prosecution to ensure housing meets regulatory standards.
  2. Your duties will include conducting risk assessments and HMO inspections in partnership with other agencies to ensure properties are safe and habitable.
  3. You will provide expert advice on housing conditions and legislation to tenants, landlords, and letting agents, and work with landlords to access financial assistance for property improvements.
  4. You will process grants and loans, manage contractors, and ensure work is carried out to specification and regulatory standards.
Requirements
  • A minimum Level 3 Certificate in Housing (or commitment to achieve) is required, with progression opportunities up to a Senior Officer role.
  • Relevant experience in housing, enforcement, or property standards (5+ years for Senior Officer level) is essential.
  • A valid driving license is necessary, along with the ability to travel for property inspections.

The estimated salary for this role is £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
