About the Role

">We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our Crisis Support Team in Whitehaven. As a Senior Case Worker, you will be responsible for providing a safe and welcoming environment for clients, utilizing de-escalation skills, active listening, and calm communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome individuals to the service and liaise with statutory and non-statutory services to raise awareness of the service and its accessibility criteria.
  • Supervise caseworkers to ensure support to all service requirements and client allocation.
  • Support the Team Manager in carrying out delegated administrative tasks, including case audits, data collection, risk assessment, and monitoring targets.
  • Undertake personalised action planning, risk assessment, and review with people who have long-term conditions to support mental health recovery and achieving goals.

About You

  • You should have significant experience of providing a regular and effective service.
  • You should have significant experience of working 1:1 with service users who have complex needs.
  • You should have significant experience of working within health, social care, or VCSE systems.
  • You should have demonstrable experience of receiving supervision in a similar role.
  • You should have an understanding of challenges and barriers in accessing services.
  • You should have an understanding of issues surrounding homelessness, financial inclusion, or substance misuse.
  • You should have an understanding of recovery in the context of mental health.
