Job Title: Low Observability Systems Engineer

Salary Range: Up to £55,000, depending on experience, with opportunities for paid overtime and a company bonus of up to £2,500 based on company performance.

Location: Bristol, with potential relocation package for this role. MBDA's site facilities include subsidised meals, free car parking, and more.

Work Schedule: 3-4 days per week on-site due to workload classification, allowing for dynamic (hybrid) working arrangements.

Security Clearance: British Citizen. Please note that restrictions and/or limitations may apply regarding nationality and/or rights to work.

We are committed to establishing, progressing, and delivering against risk reduction and qualification strategies to bring products into service. Our teams closely collaborate with related LO teams who conduct Radio Frequency (RF) signature and Infra-red (IR) signature assessments to ensure coherence across the patch.

This role involves overseeing and undertaking work package aspects for radar cross-section (RCS) hardware readiness to support product development and qualification. Key responsibilities include:

  • Placing requirements on design authorities and ensuring their readiness and delivery.
  • Leading mechanical design engineers to produce bespoke fit-for-purpose definitions for manufacture.
  • Interaction with wider business areas to jointly deliver against requirements.
  • Managing the supply chain to ensure procurements are on time, on quality, and on cost.
  • Gathering performance baselines that contribute to wider evidence sets as inputs to reporting.

What We're Looking For:

  • A strong educational background or relevant experience in Physics, Electromagnetics, Electrical, Mechanical, or similar subjects.
  • Project coordination management experience, preferably with some supply chain exposure.
  • An understanding of electrical and mechanical construction and interfacing.
  • An analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including internal customers, subcontractors, and suppliers at both engineering and management levels.
  • A professional demeanor and adaptability when project needs evolve.
