Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to join our team as a Site Operations Specialist. This role involves providing maintenance and servicing of life safety equipment, emergency light and smoke vent systems in accordance with current British & European standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day planned and reactive maintenance of contracts, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Respond promptly to emergency call-outs, demonstrating expertise in fault finding and resolution.
  • Carry out remedial works and asset verification as required, prioritizing quality and efficiency.
  • Install replacement or additional equipment, adhering to manufacturer instructions and industry best practices.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, ensuring seamless service delivery 24/7.
  • Conduct site surveys as necessary, identifying potential issues and implementing solutions.
  • Train apprentices, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure succession planning.
  • Achieve high levels of professionalism and diligence, considering the needs of clients at all times.
  • Servicing and maintenance of emergency lighting systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2 years' industry experience, with a proven track record of maintaining fire safety equipment.
  • FIA units (1,3,5), demonstrating expertise in fire alarm installation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of British Standards BS 5839 & BS 5266, ensuring adherence to industry regulations.
  • Attention to detail, with strong analytical skills for fault finding and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage with clients at all levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and schedules while maintaining high standards.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of leading fire alarm panels, including Advanced, Kentec, Haes, Fike, Morley, and others.
  • Fault finding experience, with a strong understanding of system troubleshooting and repair.

Work Environment:

This is a dynamic, fast-paced site-based position that requires close collaboration with the support service team and effective communication with office-based colleagues. The successful candidate will be proactive, engaging with clients to deliver first-class customer service and ensuring seamless service delivery.

Estimated Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
