Job Description

As an SEN Teaching Assistant with Prospero Teaching, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs in a primary school setting. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Individualised Support: Deliver tailored support to students with SEN, ensuring they remain engaged and make progress in their learning.
  • Behaviour Management: Employ effective strategies to help students manage their emotions and interactions, creating a calm and supportive environment.
  • Classroom Collaboration: Work closely with the classroom teacher to adapt lesson plans and learning materials, guaranteeing all students can participate fully in class activities.
  • Outdoor Supervision: Provide supervision and support during outdoor activities and breaks, ensuring the safety and inclusion of all students.
  • Team Collaboration: Engage with fellow teaching assistants and professionals to create a cohesive support system for students, participating in team meetings and sharing insights.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A teaching assistant qualification or higher/equivalent.
  • Proven experience working in a UK school setting or with children of a similar age group, particularly those with SEN.
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training issued within the last year (some training will be provided).
