This Senior RNA Therapeutics Engineering Manager role will be responsible for leading a machine learning engineering team specialising in fundamental problems in RNA biology and chemistry.

As a technical lead, you will manage complex, multi-quarter, cross-functional projects and be a standard bearer for data science and software engineering best practices within the organisation.

You will develop plans to meet requirements, organize a team capable of executing the plans, and lead and track delivery.

Maintaining a safe and inclusive team environment where people thrive is crucial in this role.

You will operate in a transparent way, communicating clearly and accurately to leadership and the broader organization.

Developing a high-performing team through coaching, feedback, and ensuring opportunities for growth is essential for success in this position.

The ideal candidate will have graduate studies in Computer Science or Applied Math, undergraduate studies in Computer Science and relevant graduate studies in the life sciences with a focus on AI/ML techniques, or undergraduate studies in Computer Science and equivalent work history.

A strong track record as an independent contributor capable of end-to-end development of ML-powered products for biological or pharmaceutical applications is required.

Advanced Python programming skills and a track record of delivering robust software solutions are also necessary.

A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a technical lead or engineering manager role with direct reports is required.

Additionally, 5+ years of experience of professional software development practices: code standards, code review, version control, CI/CD, testing, documentation, Agile, with the ability to mentor others in these practices is expected.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around $180,000 - $220,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
