Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Accounting Professional to join our team at Vermelo RPO, providing expert accounting and financial reconciliation services. This role is ideal for a qualified accountant with solid experience in the insurance industry and a strong working knowledge of Solvency II regulations.

About the Role
  1. Financial Accounting: Lead the production and review of financial accounts, ensuring accurate balance sheet reconciliations, and provide valuable insights to support business decisions.
  2. Solvency II Calculations: Assist with the calculation of Solvency II balance sheets and SCR for various insurance entities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Regulatory Reporting: Support quarterly and annual Solvency II returns, including analysis for SFCR reports, and maintain accurate records to ensure transparency and accountability.
  4. Technical Reconciliation: Produce and reconcile technical data for statutory accounts and regulatory returns, covering coinsurance, quota share, XOL declarations, and tax filings, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  5. Banking and Payments: Assist with daily online banking activities, including payment authorisations in line with company mandate, to ensure smooth financial operations.
  6. Audit Support: Take ownership of audit preparation and compliance, ensuring seamless integration with internal controls and external audits.
  7. Interdepartmental Liaison: Coordinate with team members and the wider finance department, ensuring data flows support service level objectives and group reporting requirements.
  8. Process Optimisation: Continuously improve systems and spreadsheets for streamlined financial processes, implementing changes as needed to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  9. System Integration: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of underwriting and financial systems and their interactions, ensuring seamless integration and data consistency.
Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annumLocation: Hybrid (1 day per week in-office)Requirements
  1. Qualifications: ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualified with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  2. Experience: Demonstrated experience in the insurance industry, including expertise in Solvency II and regulatory reporting.
  3. Leadership and Adaptability: Ability to lead and adapt to change is highly desirable, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
