Role Purpose:
The Area Registered Building Inspector is responsible for ensuring compliance with building regulations and standards, contributing to the growth of the business, and maintaining strong client relationships. This role involves overseeing plan evaluations, site inspections, and statutory consultations, as well as providing professional guidance and upholding quality risk management and compliance policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct thorough plan checks, inspections, and consultations to ensure regulatory compliance.
  2. Achieve annual income targets through effective business development and client relationship management.
  3. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, maintaining a strong client base and fostering long-term relationships.
  4. Oversee restricted activities in evaluating plans, site inspections, and issuing final certificates, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  5. Manage risk policies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, providing expert advice to the Building Control Body and Building Safety Regulator.
  6. Attend team meetings and contribute to operational improvements, ensuring the highest standards of quality and service.
  7. Engage in ongoing professional development and training to maintain competence and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
  8. Offer client-focused CPD sessions and manage conflicts of interest, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Hold a professional qualification/membership (RICS, MCABE) with Class 2/3 RBI status; Class 4 Technical Manager status is desirable.
  2. Have in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, fire safety, health and safety, and the construction design process.
  3. Bring experience working on large projects (e.g., high-rise residential, mixed-use, hotels) and possess strong leadership, decision-making, communication, and IT skills.

Ensure personal and workplace safety in compliance with Health and Safety legislation, maintaining a safe working environment for all.

Respect confidentiality in line with the Data Protection Act, upholding the highest standards of data security and integrity.
