Job Title: Senior Financial Leader

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Leader to join our team as a Finance Director. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and direction to the business unit.

About the Role:
  • Lead a team of 15 professionals in the preparation of financial reports, project performance reports, and forecasts.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including operational and functional directors.
  • Oversee financial audits, working closely with external auditors to ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and tax laws.
  • Provide financial guidance to support the strategy and development of delivery programmes.
  • Drive business growth by exceeding profit and cash targets.

This is a full-time role, requiring 35 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements, including 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. We offer flexible working patterns, including part-time, condensed hours, and job sharing, subject to business needs.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in financial management at FD level from a civil engineering/main contractor capacity.
  • Successful delivery of working capital and cash flow improvements.
  • Demonstrable experience as a financial leader with the drive, ambition, and gravitas to lead a high-performing team.
  • Strong understanding of UK accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations.
  • Proven capability and significant experience of leading change, implementing systems, and processes.

You must hold a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS) or equivalent/similar.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
