About the Job
This is an exciting opportunity to join our prestigious team in London as a Senior Associate. As a leader in project development and finance, you will play a pivotal role in managing high-profile international transactions across the energy, infrastructure, and natural resources sectors.
As a Senior Associate, you will lead cross-border deal teams, collaborate closely with clients and colleagues, and mentor junior lawyers. This is an excellent chance to take ownership of complex projects that can have a lasting global impact.
Your work will involve leading the drafting, negotiation, and review of complex commercial contracts and agreements, as well as managing cross-border transactions and coordinating with international offices to provide integrated legal services.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the drafting, negotiation, and review of complex commercial contracts and agreements.
- Managing cross-border transactions and coordinating with international offices to provide integrated legal services.
- Acting as the primary client contact on major projects, offering strategic advice and addressing complex legal and commercial issues.
- Mentoring and supervising junior associates and trainees, providing guidance on technical and transactional matters.
- Conducting due diligence exercises, analysing agreements, and summarising transactional risks for clients.
- Contributing to business development initiatives, building relationships with clients, and identifying growth opportunities for the team.
- Driving knowledge sharing within the team and delivering sector-focused insights both internally and externally.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A minimum of 5+ years' PQE with substantial experience in project development and finance transactions.
- A proven track record of handling complex commercial contracts, including power purchase agreements, joint ventures, and acquisition agreements.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to manage and inspire junior team members.
- Advanced understanding of risks and issues involved in cross-border transactions, including pricing and commercial aspects of contracts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused and commercially driven mindset.
- The ability to work under pressure and deliver outstanding results within tight deadlines.
- International experience and/or additional language skills (preferred but not essential).
- A proactive, resourceful, and collaborative approach to working in a global, fast-paced environment.
