Financial Planning and Analysis Executive

Join British International Investment, the UK's development finance institution, as a Financial Planning and Analysis Executive. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) in producing regular reports and ad hoc analysis for internal and external use.

About the Role
  • Support the Head of FP&A in reporting operating expenses, budgeting, forecasting, and portfolio analysis to senior management, the board, and the shareholder.
  • Conduct regular and thorough variance analysis of actuals to budget and write meaningful commentaries.
  • Prepare monthly operating expense reports by cost centre, ensuring costs are allocated to the correct expense accounts, projects, and business units.
  • Work closely with colleagues in the Accounting and Accounts Payable teams to monitor and review General Ledger entries and balances.
  • Run the monthly General Ledger review.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of a fully absorbed profit and loss management reporting by business group.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis when required.
  • Assist with preparing the quarterly CEO and management reports.
  • Participate in Finance projects, including the general ledger reimplementation.
  • Play an active role in maintaining FP&A's relationships with business managers, senior management, and other stakeholders throughout the business.
About You
  • Qualified accountant with suitable FP&A experience, preferably from a large organisation and ideally in financial services.
  • Strong numerical, analytics, and data management skills.
  • Capable of working with large data sets and distilling conclusions clearly and succinctly.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Good working knowledge of PowerPoint and experience of preparing presentations.
  • Solid command of the written word and experience of writing business commentaries.
  • Conversant with Concur Expense, Concur Invoice, and Concur Intelligence modules.
  • A working knowledge of Power BI would be an advantage.
