About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Asset Administrator to join our team at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As an IT Asset Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting and developing the Trust's IT asset register, configuration, and process documentation library, and associated systems.

You will work closely with the Digital Infrastructure Manager, IT Security Manager, and IT Support Manager to lead and coordinate action on the recovery of under-utilised assets and where intervention is needed in respect of asset failure rates, visibility, or updates position.

You will also assist in the organisation and coordination of planned downtime windows as required for the maintenance of IT assets, working closely with Information Asset Owners, IT support staff, and service stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  • To take ownership as an Information Asset Administrator for IT systems associated with hardware, software, and user account related asset and configuration management.
  • To support and lead (where applicable and delegated by the Digital Infrastructure Manager) on the development of the Trust's use of IT asset and configuration management systems.
  • To work with the Digital Infrastructure Manager, IT Security Manager, and IT Support Manager to lead and coordinate action on the recovery of under-utilised assets and where intervention is needed in respect of asset failure rates, visibility, or updates position.
  • To assist the Digital Infrastructure Manager, IT Security Manager, and IT Support Manager in the organisation and coordination of planned downtime windows as required for the maintenance of IT assets.

Requirements

  • Significant asset or change management experience within an IT Department.
  • Experience of information asset administration.
  • ITIL Qualification.
  • PRINCE 2 Foundation.
  • Evidence of continuous self-development.

Desirable

  • Significant Asset and/or Configuration Management experience within an NHS IT Department with experience of managing and taking a lead role in these areas.
  • Understanding of relevant IT management issues and techniques e.g. system change control, user acceptance, helpdesk provision, service level agreements, security standards & data protection.
  • Exhibits positive attitude and behaviour and a flexible approach to work.
  • Interpersonal skills and relationship building skills.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures, project management, and information analysis.
  • IT skills to develop and create reports, documents, and spreadsheets, and the ability to present reports to a high standard.
  • Analytical skills for trend analysis and reporting.
  • Flexibility in your working pattern to support out of normal hours activities as and when required.
  • Understanding of confidentiality issues and data protection, and adherence to Trust and Government policies in these areas.
  • Have a full UK driving license and access to own transport.
