Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Foreman with SSSTS certification to oversee daily site operations and ensure the smooth execution of construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising site workers, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and delivering quality work to meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of construction crews, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Enforce health and safety regulations on-site, adhering to SSSTS guidelines and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Conduct site inductions and toolbox talks, ensuring all workers are aware of safety protocols and project requirements.
  • Plan and schedule daily tasks to meet project timelines and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Monitor and inspect work progress, quality control, and adherence to specifications and standards.
  • Liaise with the site manager, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues that may arise during the project.
  • Ensure all plant, materials, and tools are available and maintained to meet the needs of the job.
  • Keep accurate records of site activities, including daily reports, labor, and material usage.
  • Assist in managing sub-contractors and ensuring they comply with site rules and safety standards.
  • Support the development and training of site operatives.
Requirements:
  • SSSTS certification is mandatory.
  • Proven experience as a Foreman or Site Supervisor in construction, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to enforce them on-site.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of site machinery, tools, and construction methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • First Aid qualification is an advantage.
