Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a small Primary School in Kings Norton. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to deliver tailored learning activities and provide individualized support to students with Autism.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group interventions for children with SEND, particularly those with Autism.
  • Support teachers in delivering the National Curriculum across Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2).
  • Assist in planning and delivering tailored learning activities for pupils with special educational needs.
  • Foster an inclusive environment within the Primary School, helping all children achieve their potential.
  • Working to EHCP's and IEP's.
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress to the SENCO and Class Teacher.

Requirements:

  • To hold a Level 2 or Level 3 in a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Previous experience working within a UK Primary school is essential.
  • Strong understanding of SEND Support, including Autism and SEN interventions.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum for KS1 and KS2.
  • Previous experience in 1:1 support or group interventions is essential.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
