Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is working with a luxury Retail company in the UK, hiring an ACCA / ACA / CIMA Qualified Accountant with Retail Industry experience to join the business as a Senior Management Accountant. The successful candidate will be working for a collaborative and supportive business that promotes career progression and development, you will be reporting to the Financial Controller based in the heart of Central London.

Your new role

As a Senior Management Accountant, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Partner with various departments to drive business growth
  • Own and manage the profit and loss statement for cost centres
  • Manage monthly accruals and adjustments, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain intercompany reconciliations, ensuring seamless financial operations
  • Process monthly payroll adjustments for Casual Workers, ensuring timely and accurate payments
  • Manage the Clothing Allowance schedule, ensuring compliance and efficiency
  • Support budget holders across various departments in preparing budgets and reforecasting
  • Lead a team of two direct reports: Assistant Accountant and Finance Assistant, fostering development and improving Accounts Payable KPIs
  • Contribute to the wider Finance team, providing expertise and support
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as required

What you'll need to succeed

  • Have a passion for the retail industry
  • Hold a qualification in ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent by experience
  • Experience in Retail or FMCG is essential
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment is required
  • Excellent analytical skills are necessary
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required
