About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Animation Technology Director to lead our animation team in creating cutting-edge animation features and tools. You'll work closely with other technology teams to advance the state of animation technology across the company, including in the Unreal Engine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement animation features and tools in the context of shipping first-party games.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define the vision of next-generation animation tools.
  • Research and explore novel forward-looking techniques, including machine learning.
  • Lead a team of engineers in building runtime animation systems and tools.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience building runtime animation systems and tools in major game franchises, real-time engines, or middleware.
  • Experience as a leader in an engineering role, with demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively.
  • Excellent C++ skills and debugging capability.
  • Expertise in runtime animation technology, including IK, Quaternions, Motion Matching, Motion Warping, Data Compression, etc.
