About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Engineering & Technical Solutions (NPETS) team, supporting our key client EDF Energy Nuclear Generation with their nuclear fleet in the UK.

The successful candidate will be based at EDF's Dungeness B location, with flexible working arrangements between office and home possible. This is a unique opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within an operational defueling environment, while also looking ahead to future potential opportunities in nuclear new build or decommissioning and deconstruction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide positive leadership on HSE matters within the Portfolio Project Teams and promote the adoption of best practice.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the HSE Management system and progress against HSE Performance Standards.
  • Make recommendations for improvement as appropriate.
  • Develop relationships and maintain effective networks with other groups involved in project delivery.
  • Manage contractors and experience of accident investigation and reporting.
Requirements
  • HNC in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent.
  • Current qualification/knowledge of the CDM Regulations.
  • Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate, Construction Certificate or NVQ Level 3.
  • Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) desirable.
  • IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management.
  • Operational knowledge of current HSE legislation associated with project work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to develop network and working relationships with other groups involved in project delivery.
  • Suitable relevant experience working as a HSE Professional in a project context.
