Job Title: Azure Cloud Engineer

GKN Automotive is seeking a highly skilled Azure Cloud Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure on the Microsoft Azure platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, plan, and execute secure migrations from on-premises to Azure.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage for cost-efficiency.
  • Configure and manage Azure services, including Virtual Machines, App Service, SQL Database, and Storage.
  • Use automation tools to streamline development and deployment processes.
  • Oversee day-to-day cloud operations to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Monitor resources, respond to incidents, and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Review existing operations and generate ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee internal and external cloud architectural components to ensure they align with the overall cloud architecture.
  • Implement required security measures, including hardening, firewalls, and message encryption.
  • Monitor and address security vulnerabilities and threats.
  • Implement security by design.
  • Conduct cost analyses to identify variances and inefficiencies.
  • Develop and implement cost optimization strategies.
  • Monitor cloud spending and recommend cost-saving measures.
Requirements:
  • At least 2-3 years of experience managing and deploying cloud solutions.
  • Proven experience as an Azure Engineer or Azure DevOps.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Services, DevOps Tools, Terraform, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure networking, Azure monitor, Log analytics, Azure automation, Azure policies, Azure databases, Azure Storage, Cost management and billing, FinOps, and Entra ID.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based services, architecture, and best practices for scalability and performance.
  • Proven experience in migrating solutions to Azure.
  • Ability to plan and execute services centralization projects.
  • ITIL Certification (highly desirable).
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals - AZ-900.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate - AZ-104.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert - AZ-305.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
