Job Title: Design Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our Engineering team in our South West water Framework. The successful candidate will be based in our office and will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, with hybrid working available.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design team in delivering projects through their design phases, ensuring cost-effective, technically compliant, and buildable solutions are delivered in line with all stakeholder requirements.
  • Develop and implement design management plans, ensuring that all design deliverables are produced within allocated resource hours and by key dates.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team, Client, Project Management, Construction Team, Procurement Team, and Planners to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the design process.
  • Ensure that all technical work is undertaken to the correct standards and specifications, following the appropriate systems of work and quality assurance.
  • Contribute to achieving sustainability targets, particularly by reducing embodied and operational Carbon Footprints of solutions.
  • Communicate and work effectively with people from other partner organisations, backgrounds, and disciplines, utilising their knowledge and experience and adding to this with your own experience and knowhow.
  • Represent the whole of the MWH business and RSK Group of companies in all client contacts and promote the MWH / RSK reputation.
  • Maintain a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
