About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Assistant to join our dynamic team at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. As a key member of our Children and Young People's Engagement Team, you will play a vital role in supporting our work with children, young people, and parents across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide qualitative and quantitative analysis of views, voices, and experiences of children, young people, and their families in relation to child health topics.
  • Review engagement raw data, analyse, code, and theme using thematic analysis, grounded theory, or other relevant approaches.
  • Ensure all engagement data collection activity by the team is appropriately rigorous, ethical, and of value.
  • Perform literature searches and produce reviews of the literature to support the delivery of engagement projects.
  • Critically review reports produced by peers, academics, and other agencies to triangulate children and young people engagement data.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified or with relevant equivalent experience in a social or medical science, statistics, or other research discipline.
  • Experience of producing and presenting high-quality written reports, documentation, and promotional information suitable for a range of audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrable ability to understand and discuss complex issues around child health and health-related statistics.
  • An understanding of governance systems and document control, with a background of working in direct delivery teams supporting those who work with children and young people.
