Job Title: Registered Mental Health Nurse Specialist CAMHS Practitioner

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd is seeking an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to take on a new locum opportunity in Greater London. The successful candidate will work as a Specialist CAMHS Practitioner within the Learning Disabilities team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct detailed specialist assessments, including risk assessments, for children, young people, and their families/carers dealing with moderate to severe mental health challenges and behaviours that impact others, using the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework.
  • Intervention & Behaviour Support Planning: Develop and implement positive behaviour support plans and interventions in collaboration with other agencies supporting the child/young person.
  • Group Facilitation: Lead and co-facilitate psycho-educational and therapeutic groups using the PBS framework, with support from assistant psychologists or team leaders.
  • Report Writing & Documentation: Prepare confidential behavioural support plans and detailed reports for case conferences and educational settings, often with significant implications for the child or young person and their family.
  • Urgent Assessments & Interventions: Be available for urgent assessments when required, delivering interventions in various environments, such as schools, clinics, homes, and the community.
Requirements:
  • Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing
  • Proven experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse
  • Valid NMC Registration
