We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team at West Midlands Police. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering business requirements, developing detailed business cases, and supporting stakeholders in defining and reviewing requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Gather and document business requirements for analytics assignments, ensuring a thorough understanding of the business needs.
- Develop and present detailed business cases for priority analytics projects, aligning with the organization's strategic objectives.
- Support business stakeholders in reviewing and refining requirements, ensuring that analytics solutions meet business needs.
- Contribute to the demand management and prioritization of analytics projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Review and triage incoming analytics requests, identifying opportunities for improvement and collaborating with stakeholders to develop solutions.
- Work closely with accounting and finance to ensure business benefits and value for money.
- Liaise with data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business requirements and support alignment between model outputs and original business issues.
- Develop approaches for monitoring outcomes of analytic insights, defining metrics and KPIs in collaboration with the Principal Data Scientist.
- Support the business in developing Action Plans to set out insight-led actions and decisions.
- Prepare Data Protection Impact Assessments to support commissioning briefs.
- Provide a link between the intelligence department and IT and D for data integration projects affecting Insight search and Business Insight.
- Represent West Midlands Police across the wider Data Driven Insights profession, collaborating with external forces, organizations, and academic institutes.
- Substantial experience in business case development, requirements gathering, and benefits measurement.
- Experience in data analytics.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
- Demonstrable experience of building solid working relationships.
Some working outside of normal officer hours may be needed, and some attendance at evening meetings.
Vetting and Medical RequirementsSuccessful applicants will be required to pass Management Vetting and Security Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, including a full background and financial disclosure as part of the vetting process. Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully completing medical checks, which may include a drugs test and a fitness test.
